- The Supremacy of Christ
Who is the image of the invisible God , the Firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created : that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers : all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church : who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things that he might have the preeminence.
For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
Col 1: 15-20
- The Mystery of God
- That their hearts might be conforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God and of the Father, and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Col 2: 2,3
- Hearts on things above
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitts on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For you are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life , shall appear, then you also appear with him in glory. Col 3: 1-4
- The new self
- Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him . Col 3: 9,10
